How to make a skeleton costume
A skeleton is spooky enough to count and easy enough to make in an evening. All-black clothes and white lines do the work, and it photographs well in the dark.
What you need
- A black hoodie and black jeans
- A white fabric paint pen for the bones
- White gloves
- White face paint
- Black eyeshadow for the eye sockets
- A plastic bone to hold
How to put it together
- White base on the face, black around the eyes and the tip of the nose.
- Draw teeth across the lips with a thin black line.
- Paint ribs on the hoodie, or tape them on in white.
From things you already own
All black clothes, white tape for the ribs, eyeliner for the face.
No makeup?
Keep the face bare and let the taped ribs and white gloves carry it.
For a group or a couple
Works in any number: a whole group of skeletons in black with taped bones is one of the easiest group costumes there is.
