How to make a vampire costume
The vampire is the costume for anyone who wants a dramatic entrance. It is mostly black clothes you already own, one strong lip and a collar turned up, which is why it keeps coming back every year.
What you need
- A black cape (or a long black coat)
- A white shirt with a big collar
- Dark red lipstick
- Pale powder, a shade lighter than you
- Plastic fangs
- A single red rose to carry
How to put it together
- Powder your face one shade lighter, then shade under the cheekbones.
- Dark red lips, blotted, and a thin line of red at one corner.
- Collar up, cape on, fangs in last.

A black coat worn as a cape, a white shirt, red lipstick. Done.
No makeup?
Skip the powder and fangs: black clothes, the collar up and a red rose in one hand still read as vampire across a room.
