How to make a pirate costume
The pirate is loose, loud and very easy to move in: a white shirt, a striped top or a vest, a sash and an eye patch. It works at any party and it looks right even half finished.
What you need
- A loose white shirt
- A black vest or striped top
- A red sash for the waist
- An eye patch
- A bandana or tricorn hat
- Brown eyeshadow for stubble or a scar
How to put it together
- Smudge a little stubble or a thin scar with brown shadow.
- Shirt on, vest over it, sash tied at one hip.
- Bandana or hat on, eye patch on last.
From things you already own
A white shirt, any scarf as a sash and a striped top. The eye patch is the finishing touch.
No makeup?
The eye patch and the sash carry it; no makeup needed.
For a group or a couple
A pirate crew is one of the easiest group costumes: everyone in stripes and sashes, one captain in a hat.
