How to make a bat costume
The bat is a black hoodie with wings: wide sleeves or a pair of cut felt wings, and small ears. It is cute enough for kids and spooky enough for a party.
What you need
- A black hoodie
- Black felt for the wings
- Bat ears on a headband
- Black leggings or jeans
- Safety pins for the wings
- Black liner for a small nose and fangs
How to put it together
- A small black nose and two tiny drawn fangs.
- Cut scalloped wings from felt and pin them from wrist to waist.
- Hood up or ears on.
From things you already own
A black hoodie and an old black umbrella cut into wings.
No makeup?
The wings do everything; nothing on the face needed.
For a group or a couple
A colony of bats, or a bat with a vampire and a ghost for a haunted-house group.
